Abstract of Research and Education

My research interest lies in platform businesses, which have been adopted by recently fast-growing companies, such as GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon), Microsoft, Uber, and Airbnb. I am working on platform research from a wide range of perspectives, from marketing strategies for profit-maximization to competition policies for building a better society.

My goal in education is to develop new human resources taking charge of platform-related research and practice. As one way to achieve this goal, I would like students to be able to use the theory of Industrial Organization from a perspective of managerial decision-making, which is sometimes called “Business Economics” or “Managerial Economics.”
