Dr. Ron Shalev (Rotman School of Management & UTSC, University of Toronto)

Title

The Consequences of Accounting-Based Regulation: Real Effects on European Football Players Transfer Market

About the presenter

Dr. Shalv is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, under a cross-appointment at the Rotman School of Management and the University of Toronto Scarborough. He got Phd at Columbia university in 2007 and after that he worked at Washington University in Saint Louis and New York University.

He is actively engaged in research on a wide range of topics in the field of financial reporting and has published several research articles in the top journals in the accounting area, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Journal of Accounting and Economics, as well as in Management Science, a top journal in the broad area of business administration. Shalev’s recent research work is diverse, including studies on the relationship between corporate financial reporting and mergers and acquisitions, and the relationship between CEO attributes and financial reporting. He will present his latest research, the topic of which has not yet been decided.
