The objective of this paper is to make a contribution in the relatively unexplored territory of globalization, the　FDI from China and ‘go-out’ of the Chinese　companies. The development of FDI from China over the past fifty years has　reflected the Chinese institutional context and the open-door policy of the Chinese　government. Five periods of the　development is showed in this paper. There is a need to develop a new conception of FDI from the developing countries,　such as　China. Three successful case of foreign direct investment of the Chinese companies were described.

本書は、歴史、多様性、そしてグローバルの視点から最新の研究成果を取り入れながら中国経済を解説した1冊である。黄　教授が執筆した本書の第11章は、中国の対外直接投資と中国企業の海外進出というこれまで余り論じられていなかったテーマを取り上げている。1954年からの50年間、中国企業の海外での経営活動は、制度的な要因に強く制約されていたが、中国政府の対外開放政策によって非常に活発になってきている。本章において中国企業の海外進出を五つの段階に分けて論じている。競争優位理論が想定している競争力の源泉よりも、積極的な資源調達という視点から中国企業の海外投資を説明すべきであると主張して、海外進出に成功している3つの中国企業を取り上げている。
